Death always comes as a shock, even when it is imminent, and even more so when it is unexpected. When it is preceded by happiness, the blow is even greater.
Yesterday, we were filled with the glow of contentedness and wonderful plans for the future, but one telephone call changed all that. Somehow it feels so wrong to have experienced happiness just before a tragic event.
It's a time for reflection now; what are we doing with our lives? Are we taking advantage of every single moment to celebrate life? And what of life after death?
"Carpe diem!" That's what we need to hold onto every day.... That, and the knowledge that God is over all and above all...
